A NEW PROTOTYPE, OF ARGENTINE ENGINEERING, THAT PROMISES TO REVOLUTIONIZE THE FOREST MARKET.

Special and Exclusive

Heil Trailer Argentina has made a vehicle for the Arauco Group (formerly, Alto Paraná) to transport resin and fiber boards, thus optimizing its logistics and operational costs. A prototype developed by Argentine engineering that promises to revolutionize the forest market.

With 233,000 hectares in Misiones and other 30,000 in the central area of the country, Arauco Argentina (formerly, Alto Parana) administers two Forest Management Units. Its main activity involves establishing, managing and harvesting plantations with the aim of producing wood.
It currently has two production lines dedicated to the furniture market: MDF boards, and fiber boards.
It is precisely for the transport of those products and of the resin, that Arauco requested Heil Trailer International to develop a special semi-trailer capable of adapting to the logistical requirements of the company. A prototype, which, according to the VP and Director of Sales, Jorge Lanfranco was based on the "innovation criteria and on a different offer to improve logistics."
The product developed by Heil Trailer, was entirely manufactured in Argentina because it is aimed at a given niche and area of the industry: the production of boards and fiber boards in the Mesopotamian region.

"We have participated in meetings with the people of the Arauco Group. They were looking for something that would bring a solution to the transport of resins and dramatically improve the transport of processed product to make it more efficient. We were fully involved in the project and after two years we could present this proposal of a multipurpose vehicle," says Lanfranco.
Given the needs of the company, the product should feature an insulated tank to carry resin on the outward journey and to come back with the boards. The design should respond to these two requirements to optimize the investment. Both the capacity of the tank, as the size of the rest of the trailer, were based on the specific weight of the product and the shapes of the boards.

"This prototype was designed by the engineering department of Heil Argentina." The design and development of the model was verified by the Engineering Department of Heil Trailer International in Athens (TN), USA. The behavior of these units was tested by prototype evaluation programs prior to their implementation in manufacturing", adds the VP and Director of Sales.
The use of aluminum is also a characteristic of the Heil products. This prototype incorporates aluminum in the tires as well as in other specific components. It also includes connections to link it to the traction unit pushing the trailer. In addition, the length of the vehicle  follows the requirements set by Arauco Argentina. The trailer is 2.60m wide and does not exceed 4.30m high according to the Mercosur requirements. Another concept that is applied is the low profile close to the truck cab. This aims at helping reduce the turbulence generated there and thus lower the fuel consumption.
"A better service and a better tare. Displaced 1+1 type axles with suspensions of an American origin. As safety systems, it features ABS, EBS, and stability control. It also has a system that keeps all kind of information, thus allowing the company to be aware of the general performance of the vehicle, including brakes performance, driver performance, mileage, pressures the brakes were subject to, possible anti-roll events," details Lanfranco.
With regards to the fixing system of the load, Heil Argentina engineering determined the use of elastic slings. For the display of light signals, led lights are available with wiring flame retardant.
