Heil Trailer started producing equipment for Vaca Muerta

The multinational company based in Cañuelas presented a hydration machine to be used in the oil and gas extraction process.

The Heil Trailer Plant, Argentina, located at 66.3 km from Buenos Aires, on the National Route No.3, launched the first hydration trailer built entirely in the local headquarters and for the Vaca Muerta Oilfield exploitation.

The sophisticated equipment –known as "Halliburton"– was launched during a visit that the mayor Marisa Fassi and the deputy Gustavo Arrieta, together with other local authorities, carried out at the plant in Cañuelas.

The visitors were welcomed by the Halliburton Regional Procurement Manager, Aldo Angeleri; the general manager of Heil Trailer International Southern Cone, Gustavo Castells; and the director of the Oil & Gas division, Everaldo Santa Cruz; who provided details of the "Oil and Gas" project, created with the intention of producing, locally, all the necessary equipment for hydraulic fracturing in the exploitation of non-conventional oilfields in Vaca Muerta. 

Heil believes that this sector is strategic for the development of the country and, since 2013, it has been working on the development of national manufacturing equipment, replacing imports in the sector.

The event served to launch the first hydration trailer entirely manufactured in Cañuelas. It is a piece of high complexity equipment used to prepare the water to be used in hydraulic fracturing, adding the necessary additives in measured amounts with great precision and preparing the gel that increases the viscosity of water, and then dosing it, generating the water with the density required to effectively transport the fracture sand in a flow rate of up to 16,000 liters per minute.
